In 1988 a humble beginning of a "single one-man band" with a big vison of group practice for longevity of cardiac care in Northwestern Ontario, we began our journey.

Today, Curans Heart Centre is housing almost all practicing specialists with focus in cardiac care in Northwestern Ontario.

Our specialists focus on a wide spectrum of needs, such as: cardiac imaging, atherosclerosis, heart valvular problem, heart rhythm issues, lung and heart interaction, blood and heart interaction, basic bench research and clinical research trials.


We provide a ONE STOP for CARDIAC CARE model!


If required, we have the following in house tests available: Stress test, Stress Echo test, ECG, Holter ECG, Ambulatory Blood Pleasure Monitoring, Loop recorder, 2D Echocardiogram, 4d Echocardiogram with Strain Study and Colour Flow, 6 Minute Walk test with oxygen monitoring, bedside spirometry, and Point of Care testing.

We have embarked into the Electronic Age with Electronic Medical Records, Digital Photo ID, Electronic Reminders, Physician Access portals, Patient Access Portals, and so forth.

Curans Heart Centre is supported by Nurse Practitioners and Pharmacists. They provide excellent care in the following Programs:

  • The Heart Function Program (for people with changes in their right or left heart function)
  • The Anticoagulation Program (for individuals on blood thinner medication)
  • The Hyperlipidemia Program (for patients with abnormal cholesterol)
  • The Preventive Program (for those patients with Risk factors)
  • The Primary Care NP Program (for those individuals without family physicians)

Our team of staff bring together diversified backgrounds, skills knowledge and different languages, namely; English, French, Chinese, Italian, Polish, German, Russian, Persian, Spanish and Portuguese.

We service the entire population of Northwestern Ontario, over 250,000 – That’s approximately the size of France!

We promote innovative thinkers, education, experience and apprenticeship for the young.
